HHSB FRG INFORMATION FOR 5/20/2008

Hello my Army Family,
Well today I got to talk to my hubby for a little bit. It’s always nice when you are having a bad day or not feeling well that someone does something that can brighten your day, and today was Spc Pickett talking to me on im. I had to take a quick trip down to Ky. this past weekend and my body was trying to get sick before I even left for the trip, but I was trying to make myself stay busy so that I didn’t get sick, well it didn’t work, so yesterday I was down and was in bed with a migraine and the whole works, so you didn’t get your weekly email yesterday so you are getting it today, but after talking to him I have been in a better mood. Do you ever have days like that? Well this is what is going on this week and other events that are going on.

Saturday May 24th FRG meeting at 2:00 PM in the Bloomington Armory located at 3380 S Walnut St, Bloomington, IN 47401. Many things to discuss and several things to plan so come to the meeting so your voice can be heard about what we do next, also learn about leave from a soldier's perspective

Panther Racing and the Indiana National Guard will host a pre-race party at Stout Field, May 24th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a live band, food vendors, show cars, a dunk tank and obstacle course. Money from the dunk tank will be given to the National Guard Relief Fund. Vitor Meira, driver of the #4 National Guard car, as well as the other Panther Racing drivers will be on hand to sign autographs. Come join the fun. The event is open to all members of the Indiana National Guard, retirees, state employees and contract employees. This event will also be open to the general public. ...Info

Don’t forget about our cafepress store. There are now items that can be embroidered on, so if you like the embroidered look we have them now. Please remember when ordering that if you want something custom you will need to email your information to the email address listed on the website. For more information visit http://www.cafepress.com/bloomingtonhhsb

Also don’t forget our FRG Blog. If you know someone that is in our area that is unable to get emails or unable to come to the meetings they can still see what is going on. This is updated regularly. You can also see who is on the FRG board and their email addresses and helpful links for you to access for your convenience. The blog link is http://hhsbfrg.blogspot.com.

Please do me a favor and remember SGT Ford’s family today and for the rest of the week as they will be having his services today. We need to remember not only the soldier’s family but his unit as well. As everyone knows when you are in the military, you are not just a single person in a group, you are a big family and when a part of your family has fallen we all grieve. So don’t forget to take a moment of silence today for this fallen hero.

I am attaching a newsletter from Cpt Goettler for the Ruff Ryders. Make sure that you read the attachment.

And last but not least a word from Jenny Tracy our fabulous chairperson….
Hello HHSB FRG! I hope you are doing well and getting excited for the summer. I plan to take a week off starting May 26th for a vacation and am looking forward to it. During this time, Stephanie Ayers and Angela Pickett will be available for FRG assistance.

Saturday, Armed Forces Day, was gorgeous and the celebration at O'Reilly Raceway Park was a blast. It was great to see so many 2-150 FA and 3-139 FA families being honored. It was a very special day and I felt privileged to be a part of the event.

I hope to see you all Saturday at our FRG meeting. It is always great to see all of you and learn more about you and your soldiers. REMEMBER TOGETHER WE MAKE THIS FRG STRONGER.

I do have one forgotten thank you to give out.

Angie Thomas - I forgot to thank you for getting several donations for the May 3rd event. Please forgive me for forgetting to mention you earlier. Your efforts mean a lot to me.

God Bless!

Welcome Home To Desert Wolves and Ruff Ryders

As the year wraps up, we are proud that all of the Desert Wolves and Ruff Ryder units made it home safe and sound from Iraq. We thank you for your service in an area that is sometimes not appreciative of what you are doing for them. Our freedom is safe because of men and women like yourselves that volunteerily put yourself in harms way to ensure freedom for the rest of us. Us at HHB hope that your transition will be a safe one and that you and your families will be able to enjoy the holidays more. Thank you again for your service to our country and WELCOME HOME!!!
